Recreate The Look: Transfer Bottles
In the lead up to Christmas, we are sharing some ideas of what you can create for yourself or as gifts.
We started with decoupaged trays, and this time we'll talk about transfer bottles!
When doing our bottles we use the following products, but you can use different shaped bottles (wine bottles are great!). ReDesign with Prima mini transfers are also a great option, and the beauty of using them is that you can paint your bottles different colours.
These projects are fun and are designed to be done your way so you can personalise the bottle to suit your home or for the person you're gifting it to.
Products Used:
- White Painted Bottle
- White Cloud Transfer we recommend the sheets that come with 4 images
- Gloss Lacquer
- Round Brush (size 8)
Please note that if you're painting your own bottle, a 120ml project pot will be enough. When using White Cloud transfers we recommend using a white underneath, with our favourite white being Beluga chalk paint.
Technique:
- If your bottle isn't pre-painted, paint your bottle with chalk paint for full coverage. We like to do thin coats with our round brush to keep it as smooth as possible and find that we often do three coats for a good base.
- Cut out your White Cloud transfer and apply following the instructions that come with the pack.
- Once the transfer is on, apply two top coats of lacquer using your round brush. We like to use Gloss, but Matte or Satin also work well.
This is a fun project and a great way to create a special vase or water bottle! If you complete your own decorated bottle please share it with us as we would love to see it!
