For this paint recipe, we walk you through how to use the Champagne Gold metallic creme with Old Espresso coloured wax to create a sophisticated and elegant finish.
We're using Old Espresso under our Champagne Gold in this look, but for a bolder finish try Carbon Black for the base with Dark wax to detail.
What you will need:

Old Espresso Chalk Paint
- Champagne Gold Metallic Creme
- Clear Wax
- Natural Bristle Brush
- Pro-Hybrid Round Synthetic Brush
- Spalter Brush
- Optional: Forgotten Gold Gilding Wax
1 - Paint in Old Espresso chalk paint using your round synthetic brush. Paint in large crosses to create very subtle texture. Do a second coat if needed for full coverage and lightly sand any excess texture off.
2 - Using the Spalter brush, apply Champagne Gold metallic creme all over, lightly feathering off the finish to create a smooth finish. You may wish to apply two coats to larger surfaces for a full coverage finish.
3 - Make a coloured wax using Old Espresso chalk paint and Clear wax, using a 1:1 ratio. Using your natural bristle brush, brush on in areas you wish to create shadows (e.g. carbed details, feet or handles) and gently wipe excess off with a clean rag.
4 - Optional: Detail the edges with Gold gilding wax, using either a finger or a detail brush.
