Soft Blues

This is a soft and layered blue finish.

For this paint recipe, we walk you through how to create a soft blue look using a base of Bach Blue with layers of Dark wax and Imperial Linen coloured wax over the top.

This finish would also look great using Rivers Creek or Duck Egg as a base colour instead of the Bach Blue.

What you will need:

Technique:

1 - Paint in Bach Blue chalk paint using the round brush. Paint in large crosses to create subtle texture. Do two coats to achieve full coverage.

2 - Apply Dark wax all over with your wax brush and wipe any excess of with a clean rag.

3 - Make a coloured wax using Imperial Linen chalk paint and Clear wax, using a 1:1 ratio. Brush on with a wax brush and wipe off excess with a rag.

4 -  Detail the edges with Vienna Champagne gilding wax, using either a finger or a detail brush.
