Moody Blues Hutch Dresser
This beautiful, small pine hutch dresser has been given a complete makeover with layers of blue wax. With lots of moody blues, we have added a touch of gold to add some glam.
This small hutch would be the perfect way to bring some colour into a room!
We painted a base coat of French Navy Chalk Paint using our large Staalmeester round brush to create a bit of texture. The first coat was painted straight from the can, and for the second coat we watered it down slightly by dipping our brush into water every now and then.
Once we had full coverage of the French Navy, we then started layering our coloured waxes. Firstly we used Sunflower and Dante's Dream in spots where we wanted some extra colour, wiping off the excess as we went. We then layered Neptune wax over the entire piece. We then went back and added more blues - French Navy, Nightfall and Paris Blue - in spots to tone down the Sunflower wax and to create more depth, wiping off the excess as we went until we were happy.
Once we were happy with our finish we added some gold gilding waxes to the edges which added some warmth and tied the handle into the overall colour scheme.
