Light, Airy, Neutral & Restful Paint Recipe
This is a light and airy paint recipe using neutrals.
For this paint recipe, we walk you through how to create a lovely light and airy finish using neutrals to create a restful feel.
This technique works best with the off-whites and pale greys. Try using Champagne Waltz as the base with layers of Stonebreaker and Pearl coloured waxes; or, use Tower Bridge as the base with layers of Cloudburst ans Champagne Waltz coloured waxes.
What you will need:
- Chrysler Chalk Paint
- Cloudburst Chalk Paint
- Champagne Waltz Chalk Paint
- Clear Wax
- Natural Bristle Brush
- Pro-Hybrid Synthetic Brush
- Silver Gilding Wax
1 - Paint in Chrysler chalk paint using the round synthetic brush. Paint in large crosses to create subtle texture.
2 - Add 5% water to the paint for the second coat and paint to achieve full coverage.
3 - Create a coloured wax using Cloudburst chalk paint and Clear wax, using a 1:1 ratio. Brush the wax on using a natural bristle brush and wipe the excess off with a rag.
4 - Make a coloured wax using Dove chalk paint and Clear wax, using a 1:1 ratio. Brush on with a natural bristle brush and wipe off excess with a rag.
5 - Repeat the above step using Champagne Waltz to create the coloured wax.
6 - Detail the edges with Silver gilding wax, use either a finger or a detail brush.
