Commission - Champagne Waltz Distressed TV Cabinet - Not For Sale
This fantastic TV cabinet was painted as a commission for a customer. After looking at the white's we decided on Beluga, a beautiful, modern white that has a tint of grey. We kept the inside in the original honey pine for warmth and kept the original handles, both of these add contrast and warmth to the piece. With some light distressing to show off the patina, we think this piece looks fab!
Technique:
Painted in Beluga in every which way using our Staalmeester Pro-Hybrid brush to create some texture, this is a good way to add some depth when doing a one-colour finish. We had a few spots of bleed through caused by the knots in the pine. To solve this we spot-painted Lacquer after the first coat, and after it was dry (approx. 2 hours) we then painted the second coat.
We then gently distressed using 240 grit sandpaper along the edges and in places where there would be natural wear. We then cleaned up the hinges and any spots along the doors using water and a rag, this was also a good chance to do some wet-distressing to even out any sandpaper scratches.
We then finished with Clear Wax using our natural bristle brush.
