Commission - Carbon Black Sideboard - Not For Sale

This sideboard has been commissioned for our clients bedroom. Bought on TradeMe for the shape and castors, it needed a full redo as it had dated handles and old borer.

Painted in Carbon Black with a simple Clear wax finish to allow the shape to shine, the handles were updated to our classic Lounge handles in solid matte brass.

Technique:

Painted all over in Carbon Black using the flat brush. Painting in the direction of the grain for very subtle texture. We painted for full coverage, one full coat and some touch ups.

Once dry we sealed with Clear lacquer all over, brushing on with the natural bristle brush and wiping the excess off with a lint-free rag.
