We refinished the top of this dining table for our customer using Carbon Black premium chalk paint and Satin lacquer.
After years of use, this beautiful dining table needed a refresh on the top so it would be ready for its new home. Carbon Black has really lifted the dining table, giving a smooth top that works seamlessly with the original antique legs.
Technique:
Lightly sanded using 240-grit sandpaper to even out the surface.
We then rolled three thin coats of Carbon Black to get a solid and even finish.
Finally, we hand brushed two coats of tinted Satin lacquer using a flat brush. We tinted our Satin lacquer with half a teaspoon of Carbon Black chalk paint to stop it from going milky over such a dark surface.
