Blue with Soft, Industrial Age Paint Recipe
A mid-blue with a softly aged industrial finish.
For this paint recipe, we walk you through how to create a soft industrial finish using one of our mid-toned blues.
This technique works really well with the mid-toned blues and greens. We've used Chiswick House but Morocco, Teal, Esmeralde and Christabelle would all work equally well.
What you will need:
- Chiswick House Chalk Paint
- Victorian Black Chalk Paint
- Clear Wax
- Gold Gilding Wax
- Natural Bristle Brush
- Pro-Hybrid Synthetic Brush
1 - Paint in Chiswick House using a pro-hybrid round synthetic brush. Paint in large crosses to create subtle texture.
2 - Paint a second coat for full coverage, adding 5% water.
3 - Create a coloured wax using Victorian Black chalk paint and Clear wax. Combine paint and wax in a 1:1 ratio. Brush on with a natural bristle brush and wipe off excess with a rag.
4 - Use gold gilding wax to highlight edges and details.
