Commission - Beluga With Metallics Tallboy - Not For Sale
Our customer wanted her tallboy updated to fit into her new home. While the perfect size, the cobalt blue no longer worked and it needed a refresh.
With a modern house full of colour, we decided to pare it back using Beluga as the main colour with a touch of silver and champagned gold to reflect her personal style.
Sealed with matte lacquer, we absolutely love how the tallboy came out!
Technique:
While this first step isn't necessary, we decided to paint the cobalt blue drawers with a coat of Imperial Linen chalk paint first to neutralise the colour, making it easier to go white.
We painted the full surround and five of the seven drawers in Beluga chalk paint using our smooth roller. We then finished with two top coats of matte lacquer for a strong and durable finish. To keep the Bleuga super white and to minimise any brush marks, we tinted our lacquer with a little bit of the Beluga before brushing it on with our flat brush.
For the Arcadian Silver drawer, we first painted in Parisian Grey using our smooth roller. We then painted two coats of Arcadian Silver using a strong mix of metallic concentrate to illuminator.
For the Golden Blush drawer, we first painted in Tahr using our smooth roller. We then painted two coats of Golden Brush using a strong mix of metallic concentrate to illuminator.
