Moody Blues

This is a deep and moody blue finish.

For this paint recipe, we walk you through how to create a moody blue look using a base of Old Denim with Carbon Black coloured wax over the top. This can be done with any of the blues, with the deeper tones being moodier.

What you will need:

• Old Denim Chalk Paint
• Carbon Black Chalk Paint
• Clear Wax
• Round Paint Brush
• Wax Brush
• Metro Silver Glide

Technique:

1 - Paint in Old Denim chalk paint using the round brush. Paint in large crosses to create subtle texture. Do two coats to achieve full coverage.

2 - Make a coloured wax using Carbon Black chalk paint and Clear wax, using a 1:1 ratio. Brush on with a wax brush and wipe off excess with a rag.

3 -  Detail the edges with Metro Silver gilding wax, using either a finger or a detail brush.
