This two-drawer vanity with mirror has become a statement piece using the Venice Landscape Mint decoupage paper.
Using multiple blues and greens, the decoupage paper has been blended to create a real show stopper.
Technique:
After deciding the placement of the Venice decoupage paper, we painted a base coat of Sea Mist, a pale grey, so that the decoupage paper would pop. We then applied the paper using the instructions provided by Mint. Once dry, we cut open the drawers and gently sanded any extra paper off, we then sealed with lacquer to give a robust surface.
We then blended the legs using our artist brush and multiple colours of blue and green chalk paints. For the sides we blended layers of Potters Clay, blue and green to create an abstract finish that tied in with the decoupage paper colours.
We painted the top and mirror in Potters Clay.
We then sealed with clear wax and added a touch of dark wax to the edges to create age and depth.
