Commission - Rustic Coffee Table - Not For Sale
This was a very fun commission piece we did for one of our wonderful customers!
She wanted to transform her solid coffee table into a bright and rustic piece inspired by the jewel tones of India.
With a base of Tropical Lagoon it has layers of chalk paint and dark wax to give the rustic and patinaed finish. We had so much fun and can't wait to do another piece for her!
Technique:
Painted in a base of Tropical Lagoon for full coverage using our angled detail brush, spalter brush and smooth roller.
We then dry brushed Country Mustard, Firefly and Old Espresso, mixing and merging the colours together.
We sealed all over in Dark Wax using our natural bristle brush, wiping the excess back with our lint-free rag.
We then continued dry brushing the same three colours over the Dark wax, blending them into each other and the wax.
Once we were happy with the final result, we sealed all over with Clear wax, again wiping all excess wax off with our lint-free rag, giving it a nice velvety soft finish.
