This old tallboy has been given a complete transformation using the Parrot and Toucan decoupage papers by Mint by Michelle.
Combined with Carbon Black premium chalk paint for an elegant finish. This tallboy is now a stand out piece that could be used anywhere in the house.
Technique:
We used our standard decoupage technique when using the Mint decoupage papers, you can watch a video here we we walk you through how to apply them.
We painted the front of the tallboy in Wild Tusk chalk paint, this is so the colours in the decoupage papers pop. We then applied the papers with Matte lacquer, adding a top coat to seal once we had cut out the drawers and sanded off any excess.
We then painted the whole tallboy in Carbon Black chalk paint with our round brush, bring the Carbon Black into our decoupage paper to blend the image using the angled brush. We also painted the handles using our angled brush.
Finally we sealed the entire piece with Clear wax using our natural bristle brush, wiping off the excess wax with a lint-free rag.
