This old glory box has been given a new lease on life with the Moody Florals Mint decoupage paper!
Technique:
After deciding the placement of the Moody Florals decoupage paper, we painted a base coat of Sea Mist, a pale grey, so that the decoupage paper would pop. We then applied the paper using the instructions provided by Mint. Once dry, we gently sanded off any extra paper and then sealed with lacquer.
We then painted the entire piece in Carbon Black chalk paint, blending over the decoupage up to the flowers so that the flowers became part of the piece.
The whole box was sealed with clear wax and some gold gilding wax was used to highlight the edges.
