This beautifully shaped 1980s dresser has been given a complete transformation with Peony premium chalk paint and then decoupaged with V & A Fairy Rose Napkins. Finished with clear and dark waxes pulls this piece together.
Technique:
We painted the dresser in Peony chalk paint, a wonderful pale cream, using our round Staalmeester brush creating very subtle texture.
We decoupaged the dresser, using napkins, tearing them to create our own design. We then subtly painted over the napkins using different coloured chalk paints to match the colours of the napkin, bringing the image together and filling in any gaps. To do this, we used the Series One - Detail Artist Brush by Staalmeester.
We sealed all over with Clear Wax and then added some Dark Wax to bring out the details, especially around the handles and outline of the drawers.
